Skin Boosters in Durham

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality rather than add volume or change shape. They are typically delivered as a short course and are chosen when hydration, smoothness and overall skin condition are the priority.

What is skin boosters?

Small amounts of a hydrating product are placed into the skin across the treatment area using fine needles.

The aim is to support hydration and skin quality from within rather than to fill or lift.

Because the product is distributed across the area, the effect is a change in skin condition rather than facial contour.

What can it help with?

  • Dry, dehydrated-feeling skin
  • Dull or crepey-looking skin
  • Fine surface lines
  • General skin quality

Consultation

A consultation is required. We discuss your medical history, medication, allergies and previous injectable treatments before agreeing whether skin boosters are appropriate.

What does it feel like?

A series of small sharp scratches. Numbing cream reduces this for most people, and the treatment is delivered in stages.

Treatment time

Approximately 30 to 45 minutes including preparation.

Recommended course

Usually planned as an initial short course with intervals of a few weeks, followed by periodic maintenance where appropriate.

Downtime

Small raised bumps at injection points for several hours to a day, with possible pinpoint bruising for a few days.

Results

Changes in skin quality tend to build over the weeks following a course rather than appearing immediately. Results vary and are not permanent.

Individual results vary. No outcome can be guaranteed, and expectations are discussed honestly at consultation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are placed to add volume or support structure. Skin boosters are distributed through the skin to support hydration and quality, without aiming to change facial shape.

Skin boosters or polynucleotides — which is right for me?
